Born and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania (on the border of New Jersey), I had the opportunity to learn from many incredible artists and craftsmen of different cultural and economic backgrounds. Now, as I reside in Delaware, I am expanding my creative knowledge and exploring new concepts everyday. I draw inspiration from America's East Coast and the beautiful nature, people, and energy that surrounds us. In addition to painting and illustration, I enjoy creative photography and implementing digital design within my work.
I am thankful to be a member of the Mispillion Art League and Artists of Morrisville in enriching communities that inspire me. I enjoy assisting with local art activities and offering my time as a visual specialist, staying involved with projects that encourage creativity and strengthen the community.

All of my work is inspired by real-life imagery, textures, and approaches. Even with my digital work, my creative process always starts with a physical sketch. Working out my concept on paper allows me to pull inspiration from real life more accurately: I can physically paperclip a leaf in my sketchbook, feel its texture, see its true color, and view it from all angles. Starting my process outside of the computer opens me up to new ideas and doesn’t confine me to any program or software.
Some of my pieces are done physically with traditional media and then turned into digital work, and others are painted, drawn, and shaped through software alone. My physical pieces start with the same process and keep me searching for new techniques and approaches. Painting allows me to create an interactive viewer experience with paint texture, gloss/matte medium, glitter, and color. Both digital and physical art offer me something different.
FAQs
I pronounce it zah-wAhd-nee-ak, but Polish speaking individuals pronounce it zah-vAhd-nee-ak. I am never offended by a mispronunciation, although I encourage others to try to say my name because it’s fun!
My last name is of Polish descent. I’m told it means “behind the water.”
